Chapter 4 Interactive Book Design – An Introduction

3. Process

Focus the use of interactive features on the most important parts of the story or content, which also is a method to design point 2 above. So, the question to answer is; what is important?

4. Make authentic – Generalise

Make it real by identifying principles that can be transferred to authentic situations or cases. This is both a booster for engagement and further integration of the iReader into the story. But also, for further exploration outside the book on the web. The following question is then; how to transfer general principles to authentic situations? This form of generalisation can be visualised with illustrations, interactive video, games and simulations.
